Android Pay is based on the NFC chip, a chip that shares information with the touch of a NFC sensor, which means over a million locations just in the US will be able to use this technology. It also means that phones without a NFC chip will not be able to use this service. Your phone also needs to have an Android version of 4.4 KitKat or higher. Android pay will only support credit and debit cards from these four companies: American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.
Android Pay will be secured by not sending your payment, but with another virtual number. You will also be able to pay in apps and the Google Play Store through Android Pay, which is nice to hear for me, because I don't like to connect my credit card straight to my Google Play, and buying gift cards every time would be such a hassle.
