I want to ask you folks a question. Which phone does the picture to the left show the iPhone 6, or the 6S? You'll have a hard time answering that because, without looking at the back of the iPhones, it would be impossible in telling them apart.
That's how much the iPhone 6 and the 6S are similar in design, but you- you're interested in the insides, the speed, the battery life, the camera, those stuff. Because that adds up to solving your annual question: Is it worth upgrading your iPhone?
Well To-Be-Honest, not much has changed. I've gone through the comparison of the iPhone 6 to the 6S, and, not much has changed. In fact the only things that changed were:
- New color- Better camera
- New processor
- 3D touch
The new color is Rose Gold, shown on the picture to the right. But going back to the main question: People who take design as a #1 priority could see the option as important if they are attracted to it. But the rest of us could go as, eh, the color isn't much, and I wouldn't pay much more just for a color. Oh, but there are more options, and you might be interested in those.
The new iPhone 6S and the 6S Plus have a better camera... 16 megapixels on the back and 5 megapixels on the front. But even without the MP upgrade, Apple always had an excellent camera.
The A9
processor is new, but you can't tell much difference in it from the A8 but
since it is a newer version on the same line, it is more powerful and faster.
And
finally the 3D touch. It is a sensor that knows how hard you press on the
screen, but other than instrumental uses, so far we don’t have any information
on the features.
So
what's the conclusion?
If you
are that classic Apple Fan-Boy who loves design and media, you should
definitely treat yourself a treat by upgrading from the 6 to the 6S. Otherwise,
wait for the iPhone 7.
If you
are a person who's new to iPhones, or haven't upgraded your iPhone since some
time, get an iPhone 6S. You start with another OS.
If you
are someone who's having a budget cut, there's not much difference, so instead
of upgrading for small things, keep your iPhone for next year or the year
after.
