What we know about the new Microsoft Tablet: Surface Pro 5

Surface Pro 4, 2015
We're now reaching about half a year since the launch of the Surface Pro 4, and lots of people are waiting for its successor, the Pro 5. Ever since Microsoft released the Surface series, it has been one of the most popular choices for people who are looking to replace a laptop with something more lightweight, but equally as fast. And with the arrival of Windows 10, a solid OS for Microsoft tablets, the Surface Pro 4 is hard to beat.

The first question most of you will ask is: when do we get the new Surface Pro? We can expect the Surface Pro 5 to launch in October, as more than half of the Surface product lineups were released in that month. There have been rumours that Microsoft might release their new product in June, to compete against the new MacBook Pro at WWDC 2016. However, that is fairly unlikely.

The new stylus might be able to recharge via a charging dock.
Microsoft may be updating some of their accessories that come with the Surface Pro 5. The first is the keyboard cover. Previously, Microsoft made you pay $129USD in order to buy one. All of the company's advertisements and videos showed the Surface with a keyboard cover, and yet Microsoft still won't let it come with the computer. In the next update, we might see the cover packed into the box, not unlike the Samsung TabPro S. The stylus is one of the accessories that actually is included by default, and it has proved useful to lots of Surface users. In January, Patently Mobile reported a patent application filed by Microsoft, which seems like they may be replacing the battery inside the stylus with a rechargeable one.

The Surface Pro 5 will most likely be a similar price to the Pro 4, which means that the entry-level model will be $899USD.
