Apple refreshes the MacBooks with Intel Skylake Core M processor and a new colour

The new 12-inch MacBook either makes users love it or hate it. Since its release, the MacBook has been receiving numerous amounts of reviews, positive and negative. Now it has been about a year since Apple officially launched this incredibly thin product, and earlier today Apple announced some minor improvements to its newest laptop.
Because of the simplicity of the 12-inch MacBook, it hasn't always been the first choice for a Mac user. However, the portability and decent battery life made it a good choice for people who want to use their laptop on the go. However, there were many features that didn't appeal to consumers. Apple has improved some of these features in the latest update, but not all of them. The first is the processor. The first-generation MacBook featured an Intel Core M processor, which saves energy but isn't very fast. However, the improvement in the chips makes the new MacBook 'S' pretty tempting. Apple upgraded their line to now utilize m3, m5, and m7 chips. Along with these processors, the MacBooks all received Intel's 515 integrated graphics. Apple also slightly made the flash storage speed faster, but most people won't be able to notice. And although the MacBook looks exactly the same as the 2015 model, Apple's managed to cram in another hour of battery life.

Along with all of the internal upgrades, the biggest change that we can notice is the new colour added to Apple's line of products. Since the launch of the Rose Gold iPhone 6s, iPhone SE, iPad Pro, and the Apple Watch, Rose Gold quickly became one of the most loved colour options.
However, Apple still has a long way to go with other improvements. The slim laptop still only lets you use a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack, which won't help you much if you're looking to connect other devices to it. The adapters are available on the Apple website, but they do cost a fair amount of money. We're hoping that it's one of the main things Apple improves in their next major update. The keyboard hasn't really become better either. The edge-to-edge keyboard may sound great, but the keyboard is actually too thin that you can barely feel if you pressed it or not. And if you're switching to a 12-inch from an Air or Pro, the keyboard might not feel very comfortable to you.
The new bigger keyboard on the 2015 and 2016 models.
Despite all of the downsides, the 12-inch MacBook may be the perfect portable laptop for people that travel frequently. The slim, lightweight design and decent battery life makes it easy for people to use it quickly. If you already own a 2015 MacBook, this might not  be the upgrade in which you switch computers. Instead, you might want to wait for a bigger update where there are other improvements made as well. But if you really want that slight speed boost, or you were waiting for the upgrade to happen to grab a MacBook, the 2016 update makes the 12-inch MacBook sound like a pretty solid choice if you're looking for a computer to do basic, simple tasks.

The new MacBook starts at $1299USD for the cheapest model, with 1.1GHz speed and 256GB of flash storage, and the price goes up from there.
